The International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) brings together scholars from diverse disciplines, including the life sciences as well as history, philosophy, and social studies of science. The biennial ISHPSSB summer meetings are known for innovative, transdisciplinary sessions, and for fostering informal, co-operative exchanges and on-going collaborations.

Call for Nominations for Officers

In accordance with our bylaws, nominations are requested for the following:

  • President-elect (2025–2027) who then becomes President (2027–2029)
  • Council members (2025–2029), three vacancies
  • Program Co-Chairs (2025–2027 for 2027 conference)

For details on the responsibilities associated with each role, please see our Operations Manual. Those nominated by two or more members, or by the Nominations Committee, and who have expressed their willingness to serve will comprise the slate. An electronic vote will then be conducted, with notice sent to all current members.
