The International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) brings together scholars from diverse disciplines, including the life sciences as well as history, philosophy, and social studies of science. The biennial ISHPSSB summer meetings are known for innovative, transdisciplinary sessions, and for fostering informal, co-operative exchanges and on-going collaborations.

Call for symposium to represent ISHPSSB at PSA2026

The Society is looking for a symposium proposal to put forward as the ISHPSSB offering to the Philosophy of Science Association cognate societies section of the upcoming PSA2026 in San Diego ( https://www.philsci.org/psa_2026.php).

ISHPSSB cannot pay for expenses related to travel and registration to this conference, but nomination by ISHPSSB all but guarantees a slot on the programme. A subcommittee of the ISHPSSB council will evaluate the proposals and we will inform the successful applicant by June 30, on which date we will also send the proposal to the PSA for final approval.
