The International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) brings together scholars from diverse disciplines, including the life sciences as well as history, philosophy, and social studies of science. The biennial ISHPSSB summer meetings are known for innovative, transdisciplinary sessions, and for fostering informal, co-operative exchanges and on-going collaborations.

We are happy to announce that the ISHPSSB Council has approved a new ISHPSSB Community Award. It is awarded to an individual whose contributions to our organization and community have been outstanding. It recognizes and honors a member of ISHPSSB who has played an important role in supporting, managing, or building our organization, or in fostering a spirit of community in ISHPSSB. Contributions may include editorial work, organizational work, and any other communications, governance, or organizational roles not overlapping with domains of awards usually given in the organization and who are not paid employees.
