Dear ISH Members,
- As you all know, one of the tradeoffs of holding a virtual conference is losing out on the important informal experiences that are a key aspect of a conference. And as all ishkabibblers certainly know, our conference is especially rich in such wonderful moments, which are of the utmost importance for building up our research networks and community, especially for our more junior members. Thus, the Virtual Local Organizing Committee (VLOC) for ISH 2021 has been investing efforts on providing opportunities for further engagement with each other beyond attending the academic sessions. One of these initiatives is a series of Community and Skill Building sessions, and we will be the hosts of one of these sessions: The ISHPSSB Festival of the Playlists.
- The idea, as the title indicates, is to put together two wonderful playlists in the platform Spotify for ishkabibblers to enjoy. For the first, we ask you to share music that you find provides a nice background for working on papers. For the second, we ask you to contribute music that can serve as the soundtrack for our conference dinner.
- We would like to invite you all, then, to participate in this festival of playlists! Here is how it will go. Follow this link to our Google form where you can submit tracks for (#1) ISH21 perfect paper-writing soundtrack, and (#2) ISH21 conference dinner funtrack. You’ll be able to include your name and up to 5 tracks which you think to provide (list #1) a good setting or background for paper-writing and (list #2) a good soundtrack to make us happy in our virtual conference dinner.
- For the first there will be a voting on the best tracks; voting will not take place in the case of the ISH21 conference dinner funtrack. You can participate in the two playlists included in the festival, or only one, as you wish. The only restriction is: the tracks suggested need to be available on the platform Spotify. Otherwise, we won’t be able to include them in the final playlists.
- Specifically for the playlist #1, ISH21 perfect paper-writing soundtrack, you can submit your contribution in one or many of the categories below. You can submit the form more than once if you want to submit different tracks for each category.
- More culturally diverse soundtrack
- All women singers or players
- Songs about science
- Songs about philosophy, history or sociology
- Songs that mention living things in the title
Later on, we will set up a voting system to see which tracks will win the categories in the #1 ISH21 perfect paper-writing soundtrack! Independent of winners, all the tracks suggested by you will be included in the correspondent playlist. All tracks suggested for #2 ISH21 conference dinner funtrack will be included in the playlist.
You can now get the soundtracks #1 and #2 as PDF, or scroll on:
