These officers chair the various committees through which the Society as an entity functions:

In line with the Society's mission, most work gets done by meetings-related committees:

- Local Arrangements Committee

- Travel Support Committee
There are four committees to select the recipients of the prizes the Society hands out (where the Community Award is chosen by the Executive Committee):
- Marjorie Grene and Werner Callebaut Prizes Committee
- David Hull Prize Committee
- Interdisciplinary Organized Session Prize Committee
- ISHPSSB Community Award Committee
Lastly there are three committees mostly related to outreach:
Beyond the above committees, there can be temporary, ‘ad hoc’ committees for specific purposes (e.g. in 2021–2023, for Bylaw revisions, and for formulating a Code-of-conduct and an Indigenous Lands Acknowledgement policy).
